THE TEMPORARY EMERGENCY VILLAGE
IMBY units can be delivered in eight weeks to provide immediate shelter to the Joe Rodota Trail unhoused community in a “village-like” project. The IMBY unitscan be easily assembled on a temporary site with available infrastructure to accommodate the urgency of the human crisis.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD VILLAGE
The Neighborhood Village can be developed on in-fill development sites in the community. Low cost of construction coupled with speed of delivery creates substantial reduction to the cost of housing, thereby allowing the production of immediate affordable housing and overall supply in the marketplace.
More supply means lower pricing (i.e., Economics 101). Lower pricing means more affordability for our community. More affordability means relief from the risks of homelessness.
THE HIGHER DENSITY
The units can be efficiently constructed in high-density urban markets and as part of mixed-use developments and re-developments. This type development is feasible within or above other functionally obsolete buildings such as abandoned malls, motels, warehouses or parking garages.
Interestingly, these units can be developed above historic buildings without impact in architecturally appealing juxtaposition, as is common in Europe.
